Although Ibiza is celebrated for its many wonderful assets, it is perhaps most praised by locals and visitors alike for its spectacular natural beauty. To fully indulge and enjoy this gorgeous greenery and beautiful blue hues, we would recommend one of the following walks for the perfect afternoon activity with the family or without! All of our recommended walks are leisurely and not too straining with a well worth-while reward at the end…

ES PORTIXOL

The small cove of Es Portixol is one of the most hidden beaches in the island of Ibiza and is the dreamiest setting you could possibly imagine. To reach it enjoy a scenic walk with incredible sea-views around the cliffside near Sant Mateu and follow the rocky path down to the secret stunning cove. Once there, picnic on the waters-edge, swim in the azure waters and jump off rocks on either side with the kids, or alternatively our favourite activity is to sunbather atop the fisherman’s huts for the most beautiful family day out…

HIKE FROM CALA CONTA TO CALA TARIDA

This walk is an easy coastal hike between two stunning beaches in the south-east of the island. Follow a rough but not too difficult trail along cliff edges with beautiful coastal views to one of Ibiza’s lesser-known tourist sights and to hidden beaches much quieter than Conta or Tarida. Without break, this hike can be done in a little over an hour but we would suggest allowing yourself much longer to lounge on the various gorgeous beaches along the way! Both Conta and Tarida have restaurants and bars perfect for after hike refreshments but be sure to bring water along the way.

SANT AGNES COASTAL HIKE

Santa Agnes, a tiny hamlet in the north-west of Ibiza that doesn’t get much in the way of tourist traffic but does make a good starting point for a hike along some ‘truly epic coastline’. The towns initial elevation of 200m above sea level means starting at the edge of a sheer dramatic cliff without the need for a tough climb – we love! The hike takes around 90minutes but shortcuts can be taken, it’s unlikely to see anyone else, with uncorrupted views of the magical Mediterranean and the only sounds reaching your ears being those of buzzing cicadas and the waves crashing below…

SANT RAFAEL-SANTA GERTRUDIS CIRCULAR HIKE

This walk takes one ambling through stunning countryside which is alive with vivid wildflowers and the colours of sweet September. This walk takes us to the classic little town of Santa Gertrudis where we would recommend stopping for lunch at this mid-point before beginning the return journey, perhaps in the local Bar Costa for Spanish treats or Wild Beets for healthy vegan snacks. The second part of the hike takes place through more wooded country and is rewarding with regard to its splendid countryside views before reaching San Rafael once more for a well-earned refreshment!

We hope these recommendations inspire you to appreciate and explore the extraordinary nature the island has to offer and to maximise time outside before the winter months set in – happy hiking! Also, for further excitement contact us for for your very own expert guide to take you through any of the afore-mentioned hikes or perhaps something even more exciting.!
