The exiting thing about working in an event-agency is that no day is like any other.

So unfortunately this week we were kind of forced to leave our hot and muggy office and spend a day in the north.-east part of the island instead of sweating behind our laptops. Too bad at the end we found ourselves at one of the most unique places we’ve ever been to…

The lovely Ana Bunge, Event manager of the Park Hyatt invited us to see what they have been creating on the other side of the island the last couple of years, and we were really impressed with the result.

The brand new Park Hyatt is not only a hotel, it is also a great location where you can just spend one beautiful day or evening enjoying some delicious food and drinks, or hanging out in the gorgeous spa, and of course it is a perfect venue for any type of event.

Situated on the east coast of Mallorca, Park Hyatt Mallorca overlooks the majestic Canyamel Valley offering views of the Balearic Sea and the town of Canyamel. What really makes this place so special is, that you don’t feel like you’re in a hotel, but more like you’re walking through a typical mallorquin village alluding to local art and culture. The place is great to discover, with a stream, several small fountains, a sunken garden and the sound of running water brings you relaxation. We had the pleasure to get driven around with the little buggies the hotel provides also for guests, it was a great relief not to have to walk in the July heat!

The fact that every room provides a balcony or even a terrace /garden makes you feel like your living in your own house. There are four types of room categories a client can chose from and even the smallest one is incredibly spacious. Our favourite has to be the Presidential Suite with so much space and a private pool. All rooms are very modern in style and equipped with the latest technology.

After seeing the rooms, Ana took us to the main Placa in the village where the cafes, bars and restaurants are. There are four fantastic restaurants where you will definitely find something for everyone. The main restaurant is the Balearic which is traditional mallorquin in style and you can choose from a lovely Mediterranean menu. Our mouths watered as we came out on to the terrace from the aromas drifting from the daily BBQ with everything from Soller Prawns to Angus steak on offer.

You can also discover a wide range of authentically prepared Pan Asian dishes by specialist chefs at the Asia Restaurant or simply relax at the Café Sa Placa an all day dining café, the perfect venue to leisurely digest a newspaper or magazine where you must try the croissants that have won many awards.

Especially in winter the tapas-bar is also a really nice place to spend the evening, with its huge chimney and a very cozy atmosphere. The hotel will remain open all year and seems to be a perfect winter hang out. All the restaurants are also open to outside guests, so even if you are a local you can go and try it out.

What really made our event-planner-hearts beat faster, were the event facilities the hotel provides. During our viewing our imaginations ran wild with the endless possibilities. The sunken garden that could work as a catwalk or a wedding ceremony aisle, The state of the art conference facilities that has a stunning terrace for lunch and dinner, or the incredible tasting kitchen where you could have your very own Game of Throwns style dinner. The team at Park Hyatt has huge ideas and the feeling they gave us is that nothing is impossible

Whether your event is large or small, as you see there are so many many possibilities one can choose from and I’m sure that there are people who don’t even leave the hotel during their stay because they find nearly everything on site. Canyamel beach is also easily accessed with the hotel running a free shuttle throughout the day/evening.

We are really looking forward working with the Park Hyatt Team to create some unforgettable experiences for our clients.

Last but absolutely not least, we would love to highly recommend the award winning croissants! We were lucky enough to be given some by Ana as a parting gift, and can honestly tell you they were the best that we have ever eaten….ENJOY!!
